An autoresponder is an automated response which is triggered by a user’s action. It is an automated script that responds to a user’s email. For eg; if a user signs up or unsubscribes it replies by sending them a welcome email or confirms if they want to unsubscribe.

Autoresponders were originally used to notify a sender of their bounced email but today it is a commonly used email marketing tool. It has the ability to send simple emails to complexed ones.

It is extremely convenient as it saves you the time of manually responding to emails, especially if you receive a hundred of them every day and can provide immediate response, leading to relationship building. You can alter you autoresponder for different purposes.

  2. A letter to confirm a user's subscription or un-subscription
  3. Transactional emails
  4. Birthday, Festival, anniversary letters
  5. Alerts
  6. Thank you emails
